Each sunset proves to be better than the last. Just another Phoenix night.

Tuzigoot was a ancient Indian pueblo. Resurrected by some college kids. This shows the close quarters and communal lifestyle that these natives enjoyed. The slacker college kids couldn't re-imagine the roofs though. And they used the wrong kind of cement, so thanks for nothing college kids. Just kidding, I am sure they did their best. Tuzigoot!
Again, nothing to do with Montezuma. Not really a well either. This warm spring was home to some Indians 1100-1400. The water is a constant 75 degrees. A real refresher during Phoenix's 120 degree summer. One negative point. The only life form that can live in these waters is a certain kind of leach. Tons of leaches. So, we didn't get into these springs. But, don't let me stop you.
The indians who lived here have long since vanished. But, their remarkable dwelling remains. Almost completely original, the structure was likely built so for defense.
Phoenix is baseball's west coast mecca. Spring training for the cactus league. The Cubbies have a huge compound here for spring training. Phoenix also has a Portillos. I'm not sure which is my favorite. Let's play two!
Alicia here. The Boojum tree is pictured in the right. This tree only grows naturally in the Sonoran desert in central Baja on the the gulf of California. It is a bizarre tree named from Lewis Carroll's The Hunting of the Snark. The legend is that if you get too close to a Boojum you "will softly and suddenly vanish away." This Boojum is at the Phoenix Botanical Gardens, which is free the second Tuesday of the month.
