As seen in Cave Creek, Arizona. Where they also have some ridiculous vehicle sound ordinances. Pop's brought me one when I was a kid, after one of his many adventures, and I loved it. Even mom loved it, and incorporated it into her landscaping in Chicago. But, these skulls still had meat on the bone, so, no thanks.
On one of our hikes exploring the desert. Winter in Phoenix is a delightful time. Those trees creating the tunnel here are Palo Verde. Their bark is green, pigmented by chlorophyll. It allows the bark to contribute to the plant's nourishment through photosynthesis. The leaves are like a soft yet stiff bristle. The desert is a harsh environment that encourages nature to find a way to survive. There are even types of grass that live out here and the hillsides can become bright green with grass after a rain.
The dog, Zeke, does not enjoy the desert as much as we do. He is still learning that cactus will stick him.
How we take group pics. Thanks dead cactus.
This old school hotel is so cool. I could hang here for a while. We met a friend and went to dinner. But, this place is a mid century modernists' dream come true. Frank and Deano used to hang out here, so you know it's the epitome of cool, jack.
The view from our balcony. Taking a break from the camper has been nice. The nightly view from our 3rd floor porch is pretty much the best ever. Thanks, June!
